A simple, versatile solution that covers more use cases than any other piece of gear. It can be conveniently used as an overnight shelter. The poncho tarp provides excellent rain protection, covering both your backpack and knees, while preventing overheating during active movement — unlike a traditional rain jacket.
Backpacker zip Poncho Tarp — versatile protection for outdoor travel
The Backpacker GT is a poncho tarp reinforced in key areas for demanding hiking, bikepacking, and camping use. This model features a catenary cut with a 3 cm curve depth, improving tension when pitched as a tarp and increasing wind stability.
The poncho is made from durable RipStop fabric, resistant to abrasion and snagging in dense vegetation. Thanks to the stronger material, it can also be used as a groundsheet or footprint under a hammock or shelter.
Ergonomic hood designed for real-world use
The poncho tarp is equipped with a progressive-shaped hood with a brim, featuring two independent adjustment points. This design significantly improves comfort while walking and provides reliable protection from wind-driven rain. All hood seams are tape-sealed to reduce water ingress, while the rounded hood opening ensures comfort during long hikes and natural head movement.
The extended rear panel effectively protects your backpack from rain without restricting mobility. A high collar further prevents water from entering the poncho. When used as a tarp, the hood can be gently tied into a knot to seal it.
Waterproof zipper and ventilation
The Backpacker zip poncho tarp features a long waterproof zipper, allowing quick access to internal pockets, a pouch, or a camera. The zipper also serves as an additional ventilation option when needed, especially during active movement.
One piece of gear — multiple use cases
The poncho tarp is a simple yet highly versatile solution, covering more scenarios than most single-purpose outdoor items:
-
rain protection for both rider and backpack
-
hammock shelter for overnight stays
-
tarp or camp canopy
-
groundsheet or footprint
Unlike traditional rain jackets, the poncho prevents overheating during movement and eliminates the need for separate rain protection for the legs, such as rain pants or rain skirts.
The included waist belt allows comfortable movement through forest trails and even exposed, windy mountain ridges, maintaining control and freedom of movement.
